With cuts in public sector funding, there is a pressing need to further reduce binge drinking, crime and harm, along with their unsustainable impacts on Police and A&E. We also need to further widen the appeal of town/city centres in the evening, to different age and interest groups boosting economic growth and job creation.
On 15 July 2010, managers and front-line staff from LSPs, CDRPs, Police, Licensing, Planning, Town Centre Management, Economic Development, Tourism, Events, Culture, DAATs, ASB and Transport will gather in Cambridge to explore and discuss the practices which reduce binge drinking, crime and harm, whilst boosting visitor numbers, social opportunities and growth.
