#cambscrowdfund needs your help - 08/07/2016

The latest survey of voluntary groups in Cambridgeshire (to be published shortly) shows an overwhelming demand from groups to find out how crowdfunding could help them. As well as training they have said they would like support sessions to help them learn with, and from others venturing into this field at the same time.

CCVS have set aside some time to make this happen but we need funding as well, £2,000 to be precise. We are looking for one or two sponsors to make this happen. You will get your logo on all publicity and will be able to see that your investment will hopefully enable groups to raise much needed funds for their work.

CCVS works with small voluntary organisations and charities, most with an income below £50K a year. These groups have been hit disproportionately by cuts in funding from local government, from reductions in donations and from a lack of availability of grants. Crowdfunding is a way they can raise much needed money to carry on their work, however it is not as simple as setting up a page, sending an email and a tweet and waiting for the money to roll in.

We have drafted a training and support programme that will bring in nationally recognised trainers as well as relying on the expertise we have to help groups give crowdfunding a real chance to make a difference.
